The IAK Culture Association, in collaboration with the International School Rheintal (ISR), successfully hosted an unforgettable Chinese Lunar New Year (Spring Festival) celebration. Held at ISR in the Rhine Valley, the event brought together students, teachers, and families to experience the profound depth of Chinese culture. The event featured mesmerizing performances, engaging workshops, and a delightful culinary experience, all designed to honour the traditions of the Spring Festival.
IAK瑞士亚洲文化协会与瑞士莱茵河谷国际学校（ISR）携手成功举办了一场难忘的中国农历新年(春节)庆典。此次活动在瑞士莱茵河谷国际学校举行，汇聚了全校学生、教师和家庭，共同感受中华文化的深厚底蕴。庆典包括精彩的表演、互动工作坊以及美味的中国传统美食，旨在弘扬春节的传统文化。
Segment 1: UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage – The 4000-Year Legacy of Chinese New Year and the Performance with Guqin, Xiao, and Drums
The celebration began with an awe-inspiring musical performance featuring the Guqin, Xiao, and drums. The audience was transported through time as the ancient melodies of these revered instruments filled the auditorium. The performance of “The Dance of Humans and Gods,” passed down for 4,000 years, vividly showcased the cultural essence and deep legacy of the Spring Festival.
第一部分：联合国教科文组织非物质文化遗产——拥有4000年历史的春节及古琴、箫和鼓的演奏
庆典以一场震撼人心的音乐表演拉开帷幕，古琴、箫和鼓的悠扬旋律响彻礼堂，带领观众穿越时空，感受中华传统音乐的魅力。演奏传承四千年的曲目《神人畅》，生动展现了春节的文化精髓和深厚底蕴。
Segment 2: Peaceful Mind in Snow Mountain – Lantern Dance Performance
Following the enchanting opening performance, students performed a graceful Lantern Dance to the soothing sounds of “Peaceful Mind in Snow Mountain”, played by a Guqin and Xiao ensemble. Inspired by the tranquillity of snow-covered mountains, the dance resonated deeply with the audience, reflecting both the beauty of nature and the harmony of the festival.
第二部分：雪山静心——灯笼舞表演
紧随其后的是学生们带来的优雅灯笼舞表演，伴随着琴箫合奏的《寒山僧踪》的悠扬旋律翩翩起舞。舞蹈灵感源自皑皑雪山的宁静祥和，展现了自然之美与节日和谐相融的意境。
Segment 3: The History and Legacy of the Guqin
An educational segment on the Guqin, one of China’s most esteemed instruments, followed. The hosts shared fascinating insights into its 5,000-year history, emphasizing its role in Chinese intellectual and artistic traditions. In ancient China, it was regarded as one of the “Four Arts of the Scholar,” alongside Go, calligraphy, and painting, representing refined cultural cultivation. The renowned Guqin artist then performed the famous piece “Flowing Water,” which has been passed down for over 2,000 years, famously included on the Voyager spacecraft as a representation of human civilization.

随后，主持人为观众介绍了中国最具代表性的乐器之一——古琴的悠久历史。古琴已有五千多年历史，不仅是音乐器具，更是智慧与和平的象征。在古代，古琴与围棋、书法、绘画并称为“文人四艺”，象征着高雅的文化修养。随后，著名古琴演奏家为大家带来了古琴名曲《流水》，这首乐曲已有两千多年历史，并曾作为人类文化的象征被收录至1977年发射的“旅行者号”宇宙飞船中。
Segment 4: Welcome Spring Festival – Primary Students Singing 'Happy New Year' with Chinese Flute Performance
Bringing youthful energy to the celebration, primary students sang Happy New Year while accompanied by the Chinese flute performance of Spring on the Xiang River. This lively and heartwarming act captured the joy and renewal that the Spring Festival represents, delighting the audience with the children’s enthusiasm and spirit.
第四部分：迎春欢庆——小学生合唱《新年好》与中国笛子演奏
小学生们为大家带来了欢乐的合唱《新年好》，伴随着著名中国笛子演奏家《春到湘江》的美妙音乐，小学生们挥动灯笼共舞。这场活力四射的演出生动展现了春节的喜庆氛围，孩子们的热情和朝气感染了在场的每一位观众。
Segment 5: Grand Finale – Dragon Dance Performance by ISR Students
The grand finale featured the exhilarating Dragon Dance, a symbol of strength, good fortune, and prosperity. As two giant red and gold dragons danced to the rhythm of the drums, the entire venue was filled with joy. The host explained that, in Chinese culture, the dragon (Loong) differs from the Western dragon; It’s different from the Western dragon and can live in the sky, on land, and in water, changing form and size, symbolizing auspiciousness. With the arrival of the Spring Festival, we usher in the Year of the Snake, which symbolizes transformation and new beginnings, representing people's hopes for a bright future.
第五部分：盛大压轴——国际学校学生的舞龙表演
庆典的高潮是热闹非凡的舞龙表演，象征着力量、好运和繁荣。当两条红色和金色的巨龙在鼓声的节奏中穿梭舞动，整个会场洋溢着欢乐的气氛。主持人介绍道，在中国文化中，龙（Loong）与西方龙不同，它能腾云驾雾、遨游天地，象征着祥瑞。随着春节的到来，我们迎来了蛇年，这一年象征着蜕变与新生，寄托着人们对未来的美好期望。
Calligraphy Workshop
In addition to the wonderful performances, students participated in a traditional Chinese calligraphy workshop. Under the guidance of skilled instructors, participants learned to write auspicious characters, embracing the artistic elegance of this time-honoured practice.
书法工作坊
除了精彩的演出，学生们还陆续参与了中国传统书法工作坊。在书法老师的指导下，大家学习书写寓意吉祥的汉字，亲身体验这一古老艺术的魅力。
Dumpling Making and Chinese Lunch Tasting
No Chinese New Year celebration would be complete without food! Families gathered for a hands-on dumpling-making session, where dumplings and spring rolls were lovingly handmade by parents, showcasing the communal spirit of the festival. At lunchtime, students and teachers enjoyed an authentic Chinese meal, savouring the unique flavours of Chinese cuisine.

春节怎能少了美食？在家长们的精心准备下，大家一起体验了传统的手工包饺子和春卷制作环节，感受春节团圆的温馨氛围。活动中午，学生和老师们享用了正宗的中国传统午餐，品味中华美食的独特魅力。
A Celebration of Family, Unity, and Harmony
The Spring Festival symbolizes family, reunion, harmony, and hope. The talented, intelligent, and lovable children of International School Rheintal showcased a beautiful image of a harmonious family living together. Through their wonderful performances, they conveyed the spirit of the Spring Festival—children are the future, and the future of the world is very bright.
家庭、团圆与和谐的庆典
春节象征着家庭、团圆、和谐和希望。ISR瑞士莱茵河谷国际学校的才华横溢、聪慧可爱的孩子们展现了一个大家庭和睦共处的美好景象。他们通过精彩的表演传递了春节的精神——孩子是未来，而未来无限光明。
Fusion of Art and Technology
All performances were created and presented by primary and secondary students. The entire stage production, including music, video backdrops, and technical support, was executed by ISR high school students. Their expertise in digital design, sound engineering, and visual effects brought the gala to life, blending modern innovation with cultural storytelling for a dynamic and immersive experience.
